It was a pleasure to burn....
Seriously, it was.
A little different vibe than usual; the art seemed smaller & uninspired. But I enjoyed myself nonetheless. Skipped Critical Tits this year. I guess I decided I'm over it. Plus, we were having too much fun hosting an afternoon of borsch and blues at our camp. So many people came by! It's our new theme.
That's what this burn ended up being about: neighbors and camaraderie. And it rocked! Had a blast.
We intended to leave Monday morning, but a member of our camp started whining on Sunday, so we ended up packing during a dust storm and spending 2 hours just getting to pavement (and another hour going the 20 miles to Gerlach). I had really wanted to watch the Temple burn this year.
We drove through the night and ended up spending the day at Yellowstone today. It was beautiful, I love that place! Now I am in a motel in Billings, awakened by snores, and emailing my blog post in from my BlackBerry.
We should be at the cabin by 9:00 tomorrow night, I hope. Then nothing but fishing & beer-drinking for a while....
Ahhh...
